Well, not really. I was commissioned this year to create his new graphic and while thinking over ideas, I ended up with a bunch of sketches I did of him. I can’t show you what I finally did yet (its a surprise) but Pat seemed pretty happy with what I came up with.

Sequencing the flight of the north american crane fly is quite nearly impossible. I try using a digital camera and downloading it to final cut on my MacBook Pro. I then grab each video still of the crane fly’s flight pattern and import it to photoshop where I bring up the contrast and remove all distractions in the background. I print each shot out time order and tack the photos to my wall. I then study the insects extraordinary behavior of flight for hours. No. Just kidding. I just sat on my ass tonight and watching Jimmy Fallon look stupid.
